Gareth Higgins, PhD, a graduate in sociology from Queen’s University in Belfast, is an Irish writer dedicated to working on peace and social justice issues. A mentee of fellow Irish writer, poet, and Catholic scholar, John O’Donohue, Gareth has written and spoken widely on religion and conflict, art and spirituality, and postmodern theology and practice, as well as film. His work has appeared in the Independent, the Irish Times, Sojourners, and Third Way Magazine, among others. He appears regularly on BBC Radio.
A perfect example, that God truly is "not elsewhere", is the name Kalein originated from the late John O'Donohue's book "Beauty: The Invisible Embrace". To have Gareth (one of John's friends) with us is truly surreal.
